Abstract

CCBrowse is an online / offline web browser for Palm PC's running Windows CE 2.11.

Features

Finally, a fully featured web browser for Windows CE! And it's freeware, too! CCBrowse features a unique user interface that lets you get the most out of the small screen space of a Palm PC:
  • Let's you work online and offline. Just choose a previously cached document from the history or select File->Open... to browse through offline documents.
  • Supports JPEG, GIF, BMP and 2BP bitmap formats for inline images. Works also as an offline image viewer.
  • Dedicated panes for history and favorites. Easy navigation with just one tap of your stylus. History is maintained across sessions.
  • Customizable menus for your favorites.
  • Sophisticated caching.
  • Support for Proxy Servers.
  • Support for Proxy and HTTP authentication.
  • Supports Cookies.
  • Supports GET / POST forms.
  • Supports META Refresh Tags.
  • Download files to any destination folder on your machine.
  • View, edit and store HTML source.
  • Customizable startpage.
  • No Java for Windows CE and no refresh tags? Cocos' innovative "Auto Load" feature will periodically refresh web contents. A must for stock quotes, surveillance webcams, and similar applications.
  • Special "Verbose" mode for status information.
  • Integrates seamlessly the upcoming graphical FTP client CCTransfer.
  • No room for frames on a Palm PC! A dull list of links won't help you a great deal. Here is our solution: An integrated parser shows the actual layout of the frameset for easy navigation of the various panes.
  • Download files just as you know it from your desktop PC
  • And you aren't left in the dark. CCBrowse always tells you what it is doing! Changed your mind or the server drops dead? Just press the "Stop"-Button or let the customizable timeout handle things for you. No deadlocks, guaranteed!
  • All your history and favorites are only a tap away. Dedicated panes make navigation a breeze! If you wish the history is maintained across sessions which allows for easy access of cached documents.
  • Full documentation, free technical support and all that in a package of less than 145 kBytes (MIPS) and 125 kBytes (SH3)!

Please note, that as of now, CCBrowse does not run on Handheld PC's.
